ARTIST STATEMENT

In America, flowers are often named after movie stars. Though they've passed on, their beauty, image and memory survive. Flowers and movie stars both evolve out of and dissolve into nothingness -- here today, gone tomorrow. Hollywood careers are much like flowers: they grow, bloom, peak, and then wither away. These American beauties have their moment in the sun; only a select few are celebrated and remembered in film.
